What is Twistid Ink?
The brainchild of award-winning artist Danny Belden and Tattoo.com's Elisha Belden, Twistid Ink is a fresh take on the small-town tattoo shop. Breaking stereotypes, the shop offers a clean, simplistic atmosphere and celebrates a love of the tattoo culture from its early days to its current heights.
Why Twistid Ink?
The name Twistid Ink comes from the phonetic spelling of the word Twisted. It's original Old English definition means unusual or strange; bent so that the original shape is changed.
Who are the Founders of Twistid Ink?
Twistid Ink is a collaborative effort between Danny Belden and Elisha Belden. The pair share a love for the tattoo culture and decided to put their skill sets to work to create an environment that not only fosters a community for tattoo lovers but celebrates the history and future of this age-old practice. They wanted to break away from the stereotypes of the industry and encourage a new appreciation for the art form in their own unique way.
Danny Belden has been tattooing for over a decade, but his love for the culture started long before he ever picked up a machine. It's clear that Danny loves the work he does, which is evident in every piece he puts out. Eager to excel in every style of tattooing, Danny offers his clientele a varied portfolio of high quality, one-of-a kind artwork. Danny's work has been featured in numerous articles on Tattoo.com as well as being awarded "Tattoo of the Day" by the popular media giant. Recently, Danny has been gaining recognition internationally as a cover-up specialist and is currently a member of both the Saniderm Pro-team and Axys Rotary Pro-team. Danny is an award-winning artist for his watercolor, black and grey, and neo-traditional works. In 2018, Danny took home 6th place in the Tattoo Awards International People's Choice competition.
Elisha Belden was a writer for the popular lifestyle website Tattoo.com. She covered topics from new cultural trends in the industry to tattoo aftercare tips and practices. However, her passion lies in tattoo history. Elisha has covered the subject for both Tattoo.com and her local newspaper. She was also featured in a documentary on Captain James Cook and his contribution to the tattoo culture. Elisha was asked to judge the tattoo competitions at the Villain Arts Tattoo Conventions in Miami, Tampa, New Orleans, and Atlanta. She was the lead-judge for the international site TattooAwards.com from 2018-2020. In 2017, she began working with Saniderm Medical, one of the world's largest aftercare companies. She managed the Saniderm Artist Proteam - which consists of over 100 of the world's top artists. She also held the title of Director of Marketing for Saniderm Medical and was involved in everything from marketing strategies to product development. Prior to taking on the tattoo industry, Elisha worked in high volume, multi-store business management. Twistid Ink allows her to combine her two strongest passions: business management and the tattoo industry. Recently, Elisha spearheaded the launch of the Twistid Arts Initiative - a nonprofit organization designed to bring exposure and access to the visual and performing arts to the community of Citrus County and Central Florida.
